San Francisco Renaissance Voices will be holding open auditions for substitute and additional chorus for our 2010-11 Season (please note that no regular openings are currently available).
You should have experience singing at the professional or "near professional" level and be comfortable singing 2-3 voices to a part.
To be considered for an audition, contact us at sfrvoices@yahoo.com with a brief description about your interest, your voice part, and a description of your singing experience/musical background. For the audition you should prepare a short solo piece (no longer than 2-3 minutes) that you feel best showcases your voice. Those who successfully complete the first portion of the audition will then be asked to sing some simple vocalize exercises to assess your range, sight-sing a piece spontaneously as well as sing your voice part from a piece that will be sent to you before the audition, and finally to sing through some pieces with current members of the group. Our positions are modestly compensated.
The entire audition process may last up to 2 or more hours so please plan your time accordingly.
